  • We primarily focus on selling electric conversion kits (so-called kits) from CYC Motor for converting bicycles into electric bikes*. We only offer central drives and do not deal with hub motors.
  • We also offer CYC Motor parts for the kits and accessories.
  • Additionally, we are expanding our store to include other bicycle-related hobby products.

* – The term “electric bike” should be understood colloquially, which may not align with the legal definition of an electric bicycle, and thus does not guarantee the legality of such a vehicle on the road.

What is a KIT and How to Understand It

A conversion kit (called a KIT) consists of an electric motor and the necessary accessories for installation in the bicycle and for its operation, including typically the bottom bracket, cranks, chainrings, electronics (controller), wiring, display, sensors, etc. A separate component is the battery.

A kit should be viewed as a complete set of components, produced by a specific company, that is cohesive and offered “as is.” The manufacturer ensures that the solution can likely be installed without any damaging intervention to the bike (e.g., frame grinding, drilling, cutting, etc.). However, the buyer is fully responsible for checking the compatibility of their bike with the kit and for the installation process itself.

We provide informational support regarding compatibility but cannot guarantee certainty regarding specific bicycle models; we only provide guidance. CYC Motor offers 1:1 print templates of the motor outline and mounting for preliminary fitting checks.

How to Buy Electric Drives and Other Products (Including Parts) from Our Offer

We run an online store with a shopping cart with various payment methods available. We try to provide precise descriptions of our products, but due to the complexity of the conversion process and matching the right drive to your bicycle, we encourage you to contact us via email if you have any doubts. Please also contact us if a product is out of stock, as we may be able to order it for you.

Installing an Electric Drive in Your Own Bicycle

Installation should be done by the customer themselves or at a specialized local service.

Service and Repairs of Electric Bicycle Drives

In case of a malfunction and the need for repair, you must self-diagnose the problem (i.e., identify the faulty part). Just as with the compatibility check before purchase, you can seek advice from online forums, groups, blogs, or directly from the manufacturer. We can also help diagnose the issue and locate the faulty part.

Once the problem is diagnosed, you will need to order a new part from us and then disassemble and replace it on your own, either by doing it yourself or by hiring any service that deals with such tasks.

In special cases, you can disassemble the entire KIT and send it to us for diagnosis and repair. However, you must arrange this with us beforehand. The terms are determined individually in each case.

Short Description of the Warranty Process

All products come with a warranty according to the manufacturer’s guidelines. In case of a malfunction that is not excluded from the warranty (i.e., a manufacturing defect, not natural wear or damage from improper use), you must first report the issue to the manufacturer. Here is report form (RMA): click here. Then there are two possible actions:

  • Self-diagnosing and identifying the damaged component (recommended when communicating with us), followed by self-disassembly and sending the faulty part to us. If the warranty is approved, we will send you a working part for self-installation.
  • Disassembling the entire kit and sending it to us for diagnosis and repair. In this case, we may need to communicate with the manufacturer and wait for their decision on whether to approve or reject the warranty. If approved and we have the replacement part in stock, we will send the entire working drive back. If the repair is more complicated or requires ordering parts, the process may take longer.

There are many other repair/exchange options available for warranty repairs, which can be arranged individually with us. We are flexible and always strive for a successful outcome and customer satisfaction, while ensuring that the repair/exchange is as hassle-free and quick as possible for the customer.

Warranty Conditions for CYC Motor Drive Kits:

All kits come with a one-year (1-year) warranty. A warranty extension to two years is available only if the kit was purchased together with an authorized battery, is used with such a battery, and has been registered on the manufacturer’s website.
Authorized batteries include CYC Motor batteries as well as all other batteries offered in our store. The customer must retain proof of purchase for the battery if it was bought separately from the drive kit.

Warranty Conditions for CYC Motor Parts:

All parts are covered by a one-year manufacturer warranty (1 year). The warranty covers manufacturing defects only. It does not cover normal wear of moving or consumable components. The warranty also does not cover failures caused by improper use, including water damage, moisture, overvoltage, short circuits from the battery, etc.—this applies in particular to electronic components.
